Springboard for Discussion: "Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day?"
What would you compare your beloved to? Why?

-Levina (11409022)- First thing first, I think I will prefer using comparison rather than contrast. Contrast probably has deeper meanings to be interpreted,but it is difficult to get by. Now, for the concrete thing, I'd say tides in the ocean. Sometimes they can ebb and flow gently,but there are also times when they flow abruptly (for instance in storm). No matter which state they are in,they are still tides. When they are calm,they look pretty. For me,those tides symbolize clarity. That is like my lover. Sometimes he can be mad and that scares me. However when he is in good mood,he is really fun to talk to. Despite of his state,he is still my lover =)
A blooming rose. Reason: When summer comes, bees, beetles, and other insects usually gather around blooming flowers. The flowers attract them by their color and fragrance. I compare her to a blooming rose because she has the appeal to attract many boys. She is beauty, she is smart, and many boys love her. So I have a lot of competitors... >.<
I will compare my love to the tree It symbolizes many things, including wisdom, protection, strength, bounty, beauty. I think a man is strong and powerful so he can keep me save. Man usually thinks with mind so I think man wiser than woman. As bounty, I am sure that man is sent to me as guardian for me in the world.
I'd compare it to night. reason: night seems so dark and quiet, but not only that, the night is also have the moon and hundred stars in the sky, to brighten up the night itself. so sometimes my beloved one can be so quiet, it seems like he doesn't really care about me, but actually he always keeps his eyes opened,always watching over me and keeping me save every time, even when I don't notice about it at all (symbolized by the moon and the stars which are always brighten the night). that was the only thing that suddenly appeared in my mind right after I read the question..:)
O my dove, in the seclusion of the clefts in the solid rock, in the sheltered and secret place of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely......
I compare my belove like a dove. Why? Because a dove is always faithful to its match. It is never lets its match alone. They always together. For me, a dove symbolize peace and loyalty. My belove can give me a pacification.
I compare him with an igloo, because from the outside, he is a cold and kind of unfriendly person to everybody that he doesn't really know, but inside he's a warm, caring and kindhearted person.
I compare her with snowfall. Because I like snowfall and i think it's very beautiful. Everyone like it. She is beauty, and sometimes when she smiles, she likes the snow that cooled my heart.
I will compared my beloved to the moon. It gives me light in the darkness, always there in the sky and never change, and also always looks beautiful.
When I face some problems, he will find me the way out just like a light in the darkness. He will bring me to the right path whenever I lost my way... He has strong charisma within him, and it never change no matter what...
I will compare my beloved to a hippopotamus. Why? Because the hippo has a big and fat body. So does my beloved. He has a big stomach (but, not too big actually)..... Then, hippo is an animal which can eat any food just like my beloved. He likes to eat all kinds of food. Maybe that's the reason why his stomach get bigger each day.....
Hippopotamus is also one of the animals that care about its beloved, such as its partner and children. My beloved is also a person who cares about me. He always tries to make me feel happy and also protects me. Just like the hippo which always takes care of its partner from the enemies.
Ehm.... bear doll maybe.... heheheee...... because she is fat, so I like to hug and kiss her... she always make me angry..... but sometimes she is very nice sister..... she help me solve my problem, want to listen me, and we play together or just talk about our own activities.... we support each other if our parents angry with one of we....^^ I love her so much.....>.<
it's not easy to compare my beloved to sth.. But I'll say that I could compare him to FLUFFY SNOWFLAKES..some facts about snowflakes are actually represent his personality.. 1. Every single snowflake has its own unique shape n is different with other snowflakes.. i would emphasize on the word "unique"; it means snowflakes are rich of shapes because none of them have the same shape.. My beloved also has a rich personality n unique..no one can replace him n no one can be just like him.. 2. Snowflakes fall in snowstorm.. I believe we all agree that snowstorm is horrible..but in that horrible situation,beautiful and hypnotizing snowflakes appear n give ppl who see them such a peace.. It represents that in any horrible circumstance,my beloved will always appear and calm me. He is very hypnotizing because he's such a hero.. 3. Snowflakes are not though..they're very light, soft and easily melted..once we touch it,it will be melted..so we have to be careful of those So does my beloved! His heart is easily hurted..that's why in our relationship,we really take care of each other's feeling..^^
What would you compare your beloved to? Why? Does my beloved one mean my boyfriend? Well, i don't know, because i don't any. But if my beloved means someone or a group of people that I love, than it means my family then. I compare my family to earth. Since we were born, we've been given the earth, with all that eath can give us. Although maybe we as human ruin this earth, it won't attack us back. If something bad happens, like earthquake, flood,etc; it happens as the impact of the bad thing that we do toward earth, not because the earth itself. All of this is the same with my family. I've been given my family since i was born and my family protect me, rise me, giving all the things that i need to live. My family will do me no harm. If something bad happens, that it might be because something bad that i've done to this family.
I think he is nice. He is like winter. He is very nice and care of me. He is very patient and kind. But, there is a negative side of him. If he is playing game, he concentrate of it. It is the negative side of him. I compare him with winter, because at winter many children can enjoy it with making snowman, but it can hurt them to with the coldest degree.
Cat .. Reason = Because if I viewed from the outside he looked patient, kind and makes me comfortable when nearby. But when he was angry he looks very scary like an angry cat.
A turtle. I compare my mother to the turtle. Not from the way a turtle walk, which is very slowly, but with what turtle do to its eggs. It always leave its eggs in the safest place, and after that, the turtle leave it eggs. So, when the eggs hatch and the baby turtles come out, their mother isn't there anymore. From one side, it looks very mean, but on the other side it can make the baby turtles strong and independent. So does my mother. Sometimes, she looks like doesn't care about me, even if I have a lot of problems. But, beyond that, she wants me to be strong, independent, and not always depend on anyone else.
I will compare my beloved to my blanket. Why....?? Blanket's just a simple thing, yet, it made of soft material. It protects me from the coldness, wind and other things that make me hurt. He is a very simple person. He doesn't have special uniqueness. But he always protects me so that I wasn't hurt. He also comforts me whenever I've problem. And his tenderness makes me feel safe.
Though a bright star remains silent in the dark night, but it can make me feel comfortable. Another thing is that a bright star can enlighten the dark night, and that is exactly what he does to me. He knows how to blow my sadness away, and I just realized that what he has done always works.. That is exactly what makes me fall in love with him hehe ^^
Jessica 11409024 I compare my twin sister to air. Everyone need air, like I need my sister in my life. Because she is always available wherever and whenever I need. Without her, I don’t know what I will be.
I would compare my beloved to sunflower, because the sunflower always follows the sun goes. When the sun is up, the sun flower is also up facing the sun, but when the sun is down the sunflower follows the sun and face the earth. I want my beloved to follow me wherever I go.
my beloved is my mom. And I would compare her to a sun. because like a sunshine that always shines the world so that my mom that always give me her love. no matter what I do, she will always care on me and protect me and warm me with her love.
LORDNA 11409036 if i can compare my beloved i think he will be like a cyprese. it can grow and still exist in every season. even in the time when there is a storm and thunder. and it's not only that t also prepare for the beautiful thing in a special moment like christmast. i think that's my beloved look like. he always there for me in every condition. he always the same and he is prepared to make my life beautiful.
I would compare her as a fallen star. There are millions stars above my head, but they were fading when the shiny star fall away my lonely sky. It was a most beautiful and rare phenomena in my life and maybe it won't come again someday. she is flawless, pulchritudinous, fair, but sophisticated. She have appeared in my life, distract my mind, and stole my heart. I fell for her and open my heart's door fallaciously. As a fallen star fell off into a darkness somewhere, she disappeared suddenly and left me nothing. Made the little boy grieve his solitude day. However, The little boy is still keeping his eyes to the sky, awaiting until the next fallen star will fall upon him, and relief his gloom away.
I compare my beloved (my God, my family, and my best friends) with pillar. Why? Because they are my strength in my life. Although some of them don't always support me directly but they always want the goodness for me.
I compare my beloved to all the things in this world. Why? He always gives me warmth like the sun, he likes the water that pure and clear, he likes the wind that can makes me comfortable in a summer day, he likes the rainbow that can makes my life more colorful, he likes a house that protects me from the tunder and storm, he likes my mothers' ears that always hear what I said, he likes my fathers' mouth that always warned me when I did something wrong, and last I compare him with the most beautiful present that God has sent to me. He's my angel...
i will compare my beloved to stars at night.. there is nothing special with the sky when there is no stars at night.. i wont be special without my beloved..
For me, he can be symbolized as soft lens. Because, for me boyfriend is not really important. I can easily get bored so that my feeling always change just like soft lens, disposable after 1 month, 3 months,6 months or the longest is 1 year. hahahaha5 ^^
I compare my beloved as the sky. Sky is infinite. I always compare myself as the sea. So, if u see the ocean and sky from the beach, it's like a unity but actually it's different. Sky creates a more beautiful scenery. Sky is blue like the sea. So, it's a must for him to have same vision of life but in different point of view.

it's not easy to compare my beloved to sth..
