I think modern person can become a happy person or a lonely person, depend on the situation and environment of the person. They can be a happy person if their environment, such as family and friends are good enough for them and give attention to them. They also can be a lonely person if their family and friends don't give attention to them, so they will feel no one cares to themselves and they will be a lonely person..

But in other side,it become a lonely person. example, in their love is empty. many modern people like to pay attention about their work. many people think love is not important but MONEY is IMPORTANT. we get everything with money. but we can not Love with money. so, many people can not have good love story because their just think money, money, and money.......
I think is a modern person is a lonely.. we can see when the bussiness men too busy with their job and can get a lot of money. they think in this world just need money and they can buy all of things in this world with money. Example: when a father too busy with his job, he don't care his family.
I think a modern person is a lonely person,because modern people are occupied by their work. They don't have enough time to think others, also including themselves. Then, Some people's view say that "TIME IS MONEY". Consequently, They become individualism and stress.
Actually, I more like to call a modern person with "happy lonely person". Now days, people can almost do everything alone. In the past, people had to have companions to play football. Now, just one person can play football by Playstasion, PSP, PC game, Nitendo, etc. We can say they are lonely because most of them love doing everything alone. But they are happy too because they can do many things in their loneliness with games, sport, social networking (facebook, myspace, ect), and so on.
actually, it can be both...... but, if i must choose one of them, i will say that modern person is a lonely person because he/she only cares about him/herself. he/she will do anything to make their own lives better than the other's. they don't care about the surroundings and just focus on themselves thinking about how to make their style,their life,their way of thinking be more modern than before....
It depends on the person. Every people has their own views about this. I think that modern people nowadays is a lonely person. As a child that was born in this era, he/she can not meet with parents every day. It is caused by parent's job that always mobile every time. Now mother works like man. We feel lonely in crowded situation. But in other hand, being modern person is happy because we have so many entertainment. We will not easy to get stress or get bored easily. As a modern person we have many facilities to connect with many people. It is confuse question because as a "generation" of modern people, sometimes I get lonely because I can not meet with people that I love everyday since they are busy with their jobs. But I also happy because I can use technology to make friends with many people.
I think modern people are sometime look lonely. Especially in big city, they work individually and that show the loneliness. Usually they only talk to their friends to discuss about the business or sth they need. There are too many technology that separate people from society, they're trapped on sth like facebook, YM, twitter which make them more individualistic. For me that individualistic is one of the effect of loneliness.
A lonely person. Because, most of people nowadays, though they can do anything with money, they usually just spend their times alone. They rarely chat with people around them, such as their neighbors, etc. People nowadays become more individual than before. That's why though it looks like they can get whatever they want, but they still feel alone.

People busy with their job and don't care about other people as long as they can accomplished all they want in their life. They like something "instant" in this modern world. Just for example is mobile phone or internet is the one that make people can become isolated from the world. If they want to communicate with other people, they will just sit in front of their computer and then chatting with others using computer not face to face. I think it is really lonely if we only do the same thing for the entirely life just depend on technology.
A happy person. Communicating with the other has become so easy nowadays. A person can stay at home all day but still keep in touch with his/her relatives. Even though some people claim that this is not the same as meeting each other directly, I think it depends on the circumstances surrounding the matter. You cannot possibly meet someone who is in overseas. Through modern technology, we are able to communicate and ease our loneliness. The modern world gives us ability to communicate wherever we are. Time and distance are not boundaries anymore. We can meet many new people, and thus I think modern person is a happy person..:) *like me* xD

Compare with long time ago, they could not satisfy themselves. At the present time, what they need is always available. Example : entertainment in tv show.

I would say both.. however, I think the percentage of the lonely ones are higher than the happy ones.. happy modern people can be found but only a few. modern people might looked more glamorous and have everything they want because of the technology and the instanity..but actually,deep inside them there were lonely souls which might screaming. modern people also have no time to reflect themselves and enjoy the nature also work individually and very competitive-these things make ppl become more lonely..

In my point of view, the happiness and loneliness are indistinct nowadays. I think that having a entertaining time by using the electronic devices such as blackberry, cellphone, PS, PC, which is available in 20th century, make people become self centered orientation. These people are not familiar with making a good conversation in face to face, but they might have a good capability in chatting via facebook, yahoo messenger, and so on. I think, this is a fake relationship, and it can not suffice human basic need, a real communication. Modern people can not deny that nowadays many people end their lives due to stress made by lack of communication. Compare with three centuries ago while people did not have connector devices, they can share their problem directly and easily with others without being awkward. Ultimately, I say that modern people are lonely and need a real communication.

I would say both..
